What to expect from you purchase

  • The item -  The photographs included in my description are of the actual item you will receive. I do not mass manufacture and each piece is unique
  • Branding - To demonstrate the piece is bespoke and genuine, the item will include my stainless steel brand tag and a unique identification number.
  • Instructions - Each  item will include written instructions regarding  use and aftercare.
  • Features - My designs may use wood that feature knots, blemishes, splits, burrs or even decay , disease and infection,  these all add to the natural beauty . All wood is assessed and treated as necessary.
  • Movement - Wood is a natural product and may respond and react to its surroundings. minor movement can sometimes occur
  • To help negate any movement I use carefully selected kiln dried wood, this should keep movement to negligible levels in a home environment, however, for thicker wood as used in woodturning, air dried or green wood is my only option, this may result in more pronounced distortions
  • Colour - Wood can change and evolve with time. Example, mulberry will darken with age.

Sustainability

My creations are as a result of Mother Nature's kindness.  In return I show my gratitude by working where possible in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner.

Most of the wood that I source is from  tree maintenance, or trees felled for health reasons. Also I will often utilise reclaimed materials for many projects. Even the resin I use is a bio resin which uses renewable, biobased materials instead of petrochemicals (west systems entropy resin).

Waste is minimised, using offcuts to create smaller art pieces, and the sawdust generated is used as energy to heat the workshop.
