 Working with nature not against

Knots, burrs and stunning grain, all tell a story of the trees journey through life.  Be it stress caused by weather, seasons of vigorous growth or even disease, all contribute to the amazing features emphasised in the art I create.

For mass produced furniture, straight grain wood is chosen because it’s more predictable to work with, but sadly  the finished product  is just a piece of wood, the soul of the wood is not revealed to tell its story.

Beautiful results often come by first finding the features and  then visualising  the best way to highlight and present  in a tangible object, be it furniture or wall art
